We recently spoke to Maria Rodriguez Martinez from IBM about the European Commission funded H2020 iPC project which kicked off in January 2019. As the technical coordinator, she shared her thoughts on some aspects of iPC including the challenges she expects and how the multi-faceted consortium is qualified to handle them.
She also describes the five types of childhood cancers the project is concerned with and why. Maria also explained why she expects positive results based on the varied experience of each of the 21 partners who will not only develop ways to use artificial intelligence to inform treatment options but also build a virtual patient which will be a platform for testing of treatment risks and toxicity.
